December 2012 Newsletter

I know we're almost halfway through the month, but I wanted to at least get you a quick update out...
In January, hope to start focusing on some health and beauty topics I thing you'll find interesting each month..

Sei Bella Med Spa

Merry Christmas everyone!
Hope this letter finds you starting to enjoy the holidays! I'm really looking forward to the family time, but still have some decorating to do and a little more shopping. We have had a very blessed year as a family and as a business! Thank you to all who supported us with your business and especially to those who supported me on the NF Endurance Team as I ran in support of the Children's Tumor Foundation. Although the New York Marathon was cancelled, CTF still received the research funds and we will run next year! Plus, St. Jude reopened their marathon to us this month, so I was able to support two of my favorite charities!
A few new products to tell you about..... The first two go with our VIPeel. We have the VIDerm bleaching cream that has 4% hydroquinone, plus Vitamins A and C And there is the Ultra A which has 0.1% tretinoin (Retin-A), Vitamin C and Vitamin A. I originally ordered these at a patient's request because they was equivalent to some of the Obagi products and less expensive. They have become very popular.
If you like to masque once a week, Bionet has a few new masques that feel and work great. My favorite is the Detoxifying Mint Masque. And FINALLY, Obagi has come out with a moisturizer.....the Hydrate Facial Moisturizer. It's much lighter than their sunscreen and goes well under make up.
If you're looking for another way to lose weight, remember Qsymia. We have had about 25 people start on it so far and I've seen really good results. Most people have seen 12- 13 lb weight loss with the first prescription.
Just a quick newsletter this month, because I know you are all busy. I'll start covering some topics of interest in January.
Have a wonderful Christmas and God Bless in the New Year!

Children's Tumor Foundation!

Drew is just one of the many reasons Lesley Gerke OslicaJennifer Hussey-WelterPete Tanguay and I run on the NF Endurance Team. It's good to see Drew stand up out of that wheelchair! Chad is a great brother who works tirelessly for the Children's Tumor Foundation.      www.ctf.org
Last Thursday, this happened (see pic), and reaffirmed that miracles DO happen. What it also affirmed is that these things happen because people believe and hope and work and pray and work some more that this dream of fixing something terrible is not a fantasy, but a very real possibility.

There are no words or enough hours in a year for our family to thank those who have believed with us. We are truly blessed to be doing this work together, and I know I speak for @[1119870093:2048:Drew], @[4915737:2048:Ben], Mom ( @[1573420877:2048:Fran]), and @[1213721484:2048:Jon] when I say we are grateful for every one of you. We are not done yet, and we will not stop until there is no more NF, this will be a BIG year! Let's do this!

You all know how much the Children's Tumor Foundation means to me.
Thought I'd share a few pictures of races the NF Endurance Team did this year to raise funds and awareness for NF (neurofibromatosis) research.
Want to say thanks to teammates Pete, Lesley and Jennifer for inspiring me to run and to my wonderful husband Larry for his support of each race and for driving me everywhere.
I've even got him to join the team as a runner for next year!
Thanks to all of you who donated this year!

October Newsletter

Hoping this newsletter finds all of you settled back into the school routine if you have kids. I would ask you if you’re enjoying football season, but if you’re a Hogs fan, unfortunately I already know the answer. On the bright side….Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner and these are always fun times for families.

So what’s new this month?...... Qsymia….. Some of you have heard of it and asked me about it already. It is the new weight loss medication that has hit the market. You can read details about it on www.qsymia.com
I will be prescribing it under some strict FDA guidelines. Briefly, all new prescriptions and refill prescriptions require an office visit. Office visits are $85 and must be paid at the time of the visit. Strict guidelines regarding birth control must be followed as there is a significant increase in birth defects in women who are pregnant and taking Qsymia. Women who are breast feeding can not take Qsymia. You are responsible for obtaining birth control. Dr. Trussell does not prescribe birth control pills. You must meet BMI criteria to be prescribed Qsymia and you must meet the ongoing weight loss requirements to continue it. You may be required to take a pregnancy test prior to a new or refill prescription of Qsymia. Your cost for the pregnancy test will be $20, must be done in Dr. Trussell’s office and paid for at the time of the visit in addition to the cost of the office visit. If you have struggled with weight, I would encourage you to visit www.qsymia.com and read more about it. We will be happy to schedule an appointment with Dr. Trussell for you by calling 501-228-6237.

With the holidays coming up, now is a good time to get touch ups on your Botox, Juvederm, and Radiesse. We get very busy closer to the actual holidays and we take time off to allow Dr. Trussell and staff time with their families, so call sooner as opposed to later.

It’s also a great time to think about getting rid of the summer sun damage with a VIPeel and/or IPL. Goodness knows after a trip to the beach this summer, I’ve had mine done!

Also, all of our facial and body products will be 10% off the month of October. This includes Sonya Dakar, Jan Marini, Bionet and Obagi. We have some Arbonne left as well.  Mention you saw this in the newsletter when you check out. The Obagi holiday gift sets are in as well. There is a hard side travelling jewelry box, plus a full size Elastiderm eye cream (reg. $85) and a full size Elastilash (reg. $55) included. All for $100.  We have gift certificates for any amount or service.

Have a wonderful week and we hope to see you soon!

September Newlsletter

Hi Everybody!
It's that time again!....School has started; vacations are over; hurricanes are blowing through! And very importantly, it's time to start thinking about your skin. Did you get some sun damage this summer? Did you do a lot of squinting and get some crows feet? Skin dry from the sun and the waves? Let's get your skin back in shape! Do you or your kids have really sensitive skin and have trouble with washing powders? I have a solution for you.
Most of you should have gotten the email with the product sales on Arbonne and Bionet and the promotion on Sonya Dakar. Those prices and discounts are good while supplies last.
As you know we love the VIPeel facial peels. They are TCA (trichloracetic acid) based and medical grade. Out of the peels we have used and tried ourselves, Jessner's, lactic, glycolic, etc.,, this is our favorite. It can be used in children down to the age of 12 and on all skin types and ethnicities. Our VIPeel rep, Michelle, visited on Monday and put a couple of their new peels on Sandy and me. I got the VIPeel Precision Plus which is stronger than the basic VIPeel. It is for tough melasma, pigment or sun damage. Besides TCA it also contains retinoic acid, salicylic acid, vitamin C, hydroquinone, and kojic acid. I'm very happy with the results. The sun damage I had show up after our summer vacation is gone! Sandy got the VIPeel Precision. It is great for oily skin, light sun damage and melasma. It can also be used on the hands, arms and chest. There is also a VIAcne Peel now. It treats active acne and scars and can be used on all skin types. Call and schedule your appointment for one. We worked all week, no downtime, and use the post procedure cream included in the take home package for any mild redness or itching. Depending on the peel you get, from the basic to the Precision Plus or Acne Peel Plus, the cost is $300-$400.
Now for you sensitive skin folks....a washing machine attachment! It's called pureWash. It's environmentally friendly, and uses little or no washing detergent. It installs to your current washing machine and uses ozone to clean your clothes, and kill bacteria and viruses.  pureWash uses cold water and is available for top load or front load washers. I have some brochures at the office. For more info you can also visit Kordsmeier Furniture in Conway. Their web address is www.kordsmeierfurniture.com .....Phone 501-329-3946. Ray Kordsmeier is the owner and a great guy. He has one at his home. I think the pureWash retails about $400.
Don't forget to touch up your Botox and get your Juvederm or Radiesse filler. Slip by for a massage, or get rid of some unwanted fat with Lipo-Ex. The results we've gotten with IPL for spider veins and sun damage has been amazing, too. For those of you who haven't gotten one of my "welcome packets" or been in lately, I have two specials on services right now: Get three IPl photofacials, a basic VIPeel and a bottle of cellular turnover treatment for $350 (regularly $600). This is a great to tackle pigment and sun damage in more than one way. The other special is 20 units of Botox and a basic VIPeel for $300 (regularly $580).
And finally, the New York marathon is November 4th, barely 2 months away. I will be running it with 3 other members of the NF Endurance Team to raise money and awareness for neurofibromatosis and the research of the Children's Tumor Foundation. If you would like to read about my NF Hero, Austin (he's 7 and a really cutie), go to my NF NY marathon page at http://ctf.kintera.org/nfenycmarathon2012/seibellamedspa . While there, please think about making a donation by clicking on "Give Now" in the upper right hand corner.
Ooohh....forgot...one more thing. Raffle tickets are still available...$1 each...cash or check; mail or come by...prizes 20 units of Botox, a silk Su Shan robe or 2 massages. Plan to draw Oct 1st, sooner if I sell all the tickets before then. ALL proceeds go to the Children's Tumor Foundation.
Have a great month and let us know what we can do for you. I love hearing from you!
